Clearly, these are efforts to get you to buy a whiz-bang offer for something you probably don’t need and won’t fully apply. It may inform, but likely won’t actually help you get where you want to go. As a coach, I am bothered by online efforts at mass marketing of information and training. Nothing wrong with training, but it generally lacks any implementation assistance so you can make any real changes.
That part is trickier … and it’s why people work with trained and certified coaches … who coach, that is support people to take the right actions they need to take to apply what they learn. That aside, I always want to know this from the people who deliver these trainings or get the 6, 7, and 8 figure results: what they actually do with the money.
My favorite definition of money is this: ‘an idea, backed by confidence, representing work truly done, that is exchangeable.’ I’ll let you contemplate what that means. Since it started as an idea we all made up and agreed to, though, I’ll add that a healthy mindset about money – one that is based on sufficiency rather than excess – allows you to do a lot of good in the world.
Which brings me to another definition: philanthropy. This was a word I certainly didn’t grow up thinking applied to me. I’m guessing that’s true of all the people striving for 6 figure paychecks and 7 figure product launches. If they accomplish that, where do those funds flow from there – to new shoes that cost $500-1000+ per pair or to more things that will end up in your local landfill?
Or does it allow you to practice philanthropy and build that concept into the work you do?
Here’s the definition from Merriam-Webster: “(1) goodwill to fellow members of the human race; especially: active effort to promote human welfare (2) an act or gift done or made for humanitarian purposes.”
So, are you a philanthropist in business and in life? In other words, do you truly care?
It could make all the difference both for you and the world. Personally, I think women quite naturally come from this orientation – one that’s needed now more than ever. check out more on how to do that here.
It’s why that’s my chosen business focus: assisting even more accomplished professional women ready to change course into more personally fulfilling involvements where they can enjoy using their influence and impact to make a bigger positive difference in the world. I believe that in our own circles – large and small – and in our own ways, we can make the world a better place.
If that sounds like you – please make contact and let me know what’s going on for you, what you wish for, where you want to make a shift, and/or what kind of impact you truly want to make! I’d love to hear about it. Here’s how to set that up now: www.dollycalendar.com!
